About Superbalist.com
Before Superbalist.com became what it is today it was originally known as Citymob, a coupon site founded in 2010 which later transitioned into selling art, electronics, and fashion. In 2013, Citymob rebranded to Superbalist.com and began selling international fashion brands like G-star RAW and Diesel.
The company was later acquired by the Takealot Group in 2014 and soon became one of South Africa’s most-loved youth brands. Superbalist.com and fellow online retailer Spree merged in 2018, allowing the brand to increase its offering to consumers and broaden its customer base.
Two years later, Superbalist acquired fashion manufacturer, Design Liaison, which allowed the brand to increase its brands and occasion and formalwear offering.
Today, Superbalist.com is South Africa’s biggest online fashion destination, bringing More fashion, More Choice to a diverse customer base through a broad assortment of products and sizes at competitive prices.
The brand offers over 40 000 products for women, men, teens and kids, including maternity wear, sportswear, occasion and formalwear, home and living items, as well as beauty and grooming. It has over 450 of the best local and international brands as well as 12 exclusive private label brands, including customer favourites like Superbalist label and Sixth Floor.
Superbalist prides itself on being not just a fashion retailer but also a curated fashion and lifestyle destination that offers consumers the latest trends and best brands right in the palm of their hands.

OUR CONSCIOUS JOURNEY
We’re on a journey to become more conscious by championing local brands on our platform, sourcing more sustainable materials and products, and using more environmentally friendly packaging. We’re not perfect, but we hope these small steps will make a difference. Our Conscious offerings include locally made products, vegan products, products that have not been tested on animals, and organic products. We also stock brands that support the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), the world’s largest cotton sustainability programme. Brands such as Sealand, Tretorn and Dr Bronner, offer products made from more sustainable materials that are better for the environment, like recycled polyester and ethically sourced cotton. Our delivery boxes are FSC-approved and 100% recyclable. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the world’s largest forest certification system, created to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Being FSC-certified means that products are made from wood harvested from responsibly managed forests that are environmentally, socially and economically beneficial.
Our Partnerships
Our Partners
We believe fashion is for everyone. That’s why we’ve partnered with The Street Store, the world’s first rent-free, premises-free, free pop-up clothing store for the homeless. We’ve set up donation bins at the Richmond and New Road Click + Collect Pickup Points, allowing customers to donate their pre-loved clothing while collecting their new items. In this way, we make it easier for our customers to help someone in need as well as give new life to old garments.
